We are Carla and Shane Purcell, a Mother and Son team.

We first started breeding Burmese in 2001.  We found that the Burmese breed of cat in NZ at the time, was not the type we wanted to breed, so we started looking through Australian breeders for cats to set up our breeding program with.  We were lucky enough to be welcomed in by Valerie and Ray Cashman of Aurora Burmese.  Valerie helped set us up with our foundation cats, and has been an amazing mentor over the years.  It is thanks to Valerie that we have an eye for type.  She taught us both so much. We now have a lovely breeding program that have many generations of our own breeding within it.

Over time Carla and Shane have competed in many cat shows, both in New Zealand and Australia, with many supreme exhibits and bests in shows.  Our most exciting achievements so far are;

• Supreme exhibit at the CCCofA show in Brisbane
• Supreme GR3 exhibit at the WCC Show in Melbourne
• Supreme Exhibit in show at a NZCF national show
• Winning Cat of the year with NZCF
• Kitten of the year with NZCF

We have now started to breed the Asian cat. They can be mated with the Burmese and are the same as a Burmese in type, they are just different in colour.  We have a very small Asian breeding program and are looking forward to it expanding.  They are such a unique cat, with an amazing personality.  Shane now resides in Melbourne, Australia and Carla in Wanganui, New Zealand.

We havent been showing for a few years and have just been enjoying the breed, however our intention is to get back to the shows and let the world see our beautiful babies again!  

We love seeing our babies in their homes with their families, and we have made some great friends with their adoptive parents over the years.
